چکیده

Active Network technology envisions deployment of virtual execution environments within network elements, so that nonhomogeneous processing can be applied to network traffic. For management purposes, each node must have a meaningful understanding of resource requirements in terms of bandwidth, memory, and processing. To express the processing requirements in a platformindependent manner, we are developing a model of CPU time usage, which comes in two parts: a node model and an application model. In order to generate instances of the model, one needs to gather some metrics relative to the platform, that is, to calibrate a node. We have investigated what factors this process of calibration should account for, and especially how background load on a node affects our ability to obtain accurate calibrations for the CPU time used by node operating system calls and by virtual execution environments. We have shown that a background load, either computation intensive or input/output intensive, has little influence on the calibration. On the contrary, a memory consuming background load introduces an overhead in some measurements. The paper draws the conclusion that the calibration of a node can be done whatever the background load, provided that the memory consuming loads can be suppressed if necessary.

Energy optimization based on routing protocols in wireless sensor network

Considering the great significant role that routing protocols play in transfer rate and choosing the optimum path for exchange of data packages, and further in the amount of consumed energy in the routing protocol, the present study has focused on developing an efficient compound energy algorithm based on cluster structure which is called active node with cluster structure. The purpose of this ...

Improvement of Coverage Algorithm in WSN in Terms of Sensor Numbers and Power Amount

Wireless sensor networks(WSN) have unique properties that distinguished them from other wireless networks and have special challenges. Not-chargeable, not-changeable and limited power supplies of sensor nodes is the most important challenge of this networks, and if the power supply of node expired, a part of data maybe lost. Because of the importance of covers in wireless sensors, in this work ...

بهبود پروتکل AODV جهت مقابله با حملات کرم‌چاله در شبکه‌های اقتضایی

Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are vulnerable to both active and passive attacks. The wormhole attack is one of the most severe security attacks in wireless ad hoc networks, an attack that can be mounted on a wide range of wireless network protocols without compromising any cryptographic quantity or network node.  In Wormhole attacks, one malicious node tunnels packets from its location to the ...

A New Method of Distribution Marginal Price Calculation in Distribution Networks by Considering the Effect of Distributed Generations Location on Network Loss

The determination of practical and coherent policy to pin down the price in restructured distribution networks should be considered as a momentous topic. The present paper introduces a new method of distribution marginal price (DMP) calculation. The main aim of this paper is to evaluate the DMP for both producers and consumers separately. For this purpose, the first part of the procedure emphas...

An Artificial Bee Colony Inspired Clustering Solution to Prolong Lifetime of Wireless Sensor Networks

It is very difficult and expensive to replace sensor node battery in wireless sensor network in many critical conditions such as bridge supervising, resource exploration in hostile locations, and wildlife safety, etc. The natural choice in such situations is to maximize network lifetime. One such approach is to divide the sensing area of wireless sensor network into clusters to achieve high ene...
